The City of Santa Clarita has identified 12 projects it may seek funding for under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, more commonly known as the federal stimulus plan.
Gail Ortiz tells me the City is working on a list, but shared some details with SCVTalk earlier today.
The City is seeking is funding for two existing projects and “10 additional projects should more funding become available:”
The City of Santa Clarita has a total of 12 projects identified for Economic Stimulus funding. This includes two projects that total the City’s current estimated amount of $1,708,294, and 10 additional projects should more funding become available.
The City submitted to Caltrans our first two “funded” projects on February 17, 2009, one day prior to the signing of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Caltrans must process the “Field Review” and “Preliminary Environmental Study (PES)” for environmental clearance. Once complete, we submit for “Request for Construction Authorization” to obtain the “E-76″ form, which enables us to advertise the project.
Going by this information alone, It’s hard to determine the total amount the city is seeking from the stimulus package. I’ll know more later, I’ve requested a detailed list of the projects, the cost and project descriptions.
