McKeon to host real Town Hall meeting on Health Care at COC

The Congressman will be back in town next Saturday to discuss health care reform and (probably) offer his own take on what should be done to fix the health care system:

Rep. Howard P. “Buck” McKeon (R-Santa Clarita) is set to host a Health Care Town Hall meeting at College of the Canyons – Main Gym for the 25th Congressional District of California on the morning of September 26th. The Congressman is eager to hear directly from the people in his district and answer questions they may have about current health care plans before Congress and where he stands on the issues.

DATE: Saturday, September 26th

TIME: 9:00 a.m. PT

WHO: Rep. Howard P. “Buck” McKeon (CA-25)

This is great. Finally we can have a real forum on this matter right here in town. I think McKeon will find that many Santa Claritans and 25th District residents don’t necessarily agree with his argument that we have the “roots of the best health care system in the world” and that more “free market” reforms are needed.

Call it a hunch, but I think Santa Clarita is much more reasonable, nuanced and open on this issue. Remember, McCain barely won the SCV (and indeed, McCain lost CA-25) and Obama ran with health care reform as one of his major planks.

rats, this conflicts with the sandwich train. In the battle between Buck McKeon and Langer’s Deli, Buck will always lose.

Would it be out of line to scream “YOU LIE!”? Not according to the RNC and Boehner and Cantor. You know he will spread the BS about killing Granny and rationing care, right?

It is important to remind those who have selective amnesia that Obama sat on his own one man death panel in IL when he made the case for denying care and comfort to babies born alive during botched abortions. Let us not forget that local health care “reformers” stormed the office of Buck McKeon. If the Dems want to transform health care in America , let them vote for it.

Exactly how many Republican votes does congress need to pass Healthcare reform? They do have a super majority right? So lets vote! They seem to be in the drivers seat. Or does the thought of mid term elections scare them? Remember, Obama is not on the ballot this time. Blacks won’t be waiting in line to vote with the 18-15 year old crowd. Let vote now. You got the votes……. Go ahead use them

George W. Bush burned a lot of political capital on Social Security Reform. Let Obama fix Medicare and Medicaid and use the savings for reform -let us see the savings before he spends us into oblivion.

Why can’t some tens of millions get healtcare? Why are our emergency rooms overwhelmed? Why is health care cost rising upwards of 10% a year? Age demographics? Technology? Administration? Tort reform? End of life issues? Where’s the ‘white paper’? Why can’t my Senators or congressman give me that information?????? Doesn’t rules on pre-existing conditions defeat the purpose of ‘insurance pools’? Should the health care industry pay salaries to it’s CEOs and pay returns consistent with the ‘market rate of return’ for same to attract investment capital from Americans who generally seek the highestt returns on their investment dollars? Do young people know that their parents are paying upwards of $1,000 a month for health care insurance? Or that Blue Cross cancelled the policies of sick people including children arguing that they didn’t include all the helath history information on their applications files years eariler? Should health care be ‘administrated’ by nonprofits?
