- The Sulphur Springs school district is considering bumping up class sizes to 30 students in order to deal with $3.5 million in cuts coming its way. To do that, the District may cut up to 40 teachers SIGNAL

- Noted: In my post yesterday about the awesomeness that is 21st Century Newhall, Gail Ortiz chided me for saying that Oversized Novelty scissors used in ribbon cuttings would make an appearance at the groundbreaking for the new library. In fact, the novelty scissors will be kept in its special climate controlled City Hall vault and the Novelty Golden Shovel will be the star of the March groundbreaking. Those pining for an appearance of the Oversized Novelty Scissors can probably expect to see it at the Cross Valley Connector opening. Thanks Gail, what would I do without you?
- What better way to kick off Valentine’s Day/President’s Day weekend than by reading I Heart’s February column in INSIDE SCV in which we learn that Santa Clarita isn’t necessarily the best place for lovers, but there’s still reason to Heart SCV.
