Scott, my brother, has been reading with interest all the debate about the design of the Newhall Library and has come up with some suggestions to help the City Council out.
The Newhall “Eco-Friendly” Library
This library is actually made from organic materials grown right here in the SCV. Free parking for those that drive a Prius. (and bicycles of course). We left the trees in place, feel free to give them a hug on your way in.
The Newhall “Get ‘er Done” Library
A decoy, this clever design by local liberals will lure in those pesky Tea Partiers, where they can be re-educated in the best traditions of 20th Century liberal thought.
The Newhall “Totally Awesome” Library
Take a trip back to the most awesome decade in history. Come complete with a Jacuzzi out front. Must be some kind of hut tub time machine! And yes, the chimney is made out of giant Rubik’s cubes.

Of course we know it will end up looking like this, with the same faux desert motifs and sand-stone chimney-scape we find in Valencia. But at least there’s a bumpin’ Escalade out front, indicating that the Newhall Library is drawing people to Old Town Newhall, at last.
