Some are saying its the result of a big fish die off on the Salton Sea 100+ miles away but AQMD says it's not certain the Salton sea is to blame. Priority used to go to students with 100 units as well as those who participate in student government. Now it will go to "first-time freshmen" and those with "solid academic progress under their belts," as well as veterans and the disabled. - Congressional candidate Lee Rogers visits CEMEX site and says the aggregate mine "threatens our air and water quality and will clog traffic on Highway 14 by adding up to 1,200 trucks per day." He also says Congressman McKeon "has been sitting on his hands long enough. He needs to put aside partisanship and introduce legislation to stop the mine.
