It says the new park is near Riverrock Way/Santa Clarita Parkway. That means it's literally on the other side of the street (Newhall Ranch Road) of the massive Central Park. Since this is the case, I'd rather have seen it left as the natural floodplain it is. Per Google Earth, parts of the park are literally just ***7 feet*** higher than the nearby wash. I hope kids are prepared to kick the soccer ball around fragments of family homes and waterlogged belongings after major flood events. Maybe I've been listening to Cam Noltemeyer too long.
