SCV Business Owner Focusing on Fam-Owned Businesses: Ok, full disclosure, I do happen to work for Mellady Direct Marketing. That said, it's still pretty great news that Jill Mellady's been named chair of the COC Chancellor's Circle, and plans to increase its focus on family-owned businesses and helping with succession planning. The investigation of the Sheriff's department was long overdue. It was Tanaka's JOB to keep cops in the jails in line. He failed to do this and was rewarded by retiring in 2013," with a payout close to $600,000 from earned vacation and sick pay. He receives an annual pension of $199,748." This is the kind of thing that makes people angry about unionized public employees. How does one accrue $600,000 in sick pay and unused vacation days? And I say this as a supporter of unions!
