The Homicide Report, a Los Angeles Times blog, has more details on this weekend's murder in Val Verde.
According to the post, two masked men broke into a Val Verde home on Lexington Avenue in the early hours of Saturday morning. Inside the house were two men, including the 25 year old victim. Both men were ordered at gunpoint to get on the ground. The Times continues:
"One of the victims managed to wrest a gun away from a robber, and a struggle ensued. The other robber shot the 25-year-old man, and the two fled."
In Saturday's Signal, Josh Premako reported that the victim was not thought to be in a gang or involved in organized crime, according to a detective. The victim hasn't been identified yet and no suspects have been named to the public.
