On this Christmas Eve, I’m thankful for all the readers & contributors of this tiny blog and want to wish each of you a very happy holiday, whatever one you celebrate. It’s been another great year on SCVTalk even as the world around us seems to get crazier and crazier.
Don’t expect a lot of posts in the next few days; I’ve got the next ten days off of work. On Sunday, I’m going to a Denver Broncos/San Diego Chargers game in San Diego, next week I plan to do some writing and some riding, and of course, there will be a lot of family time too!
Hey, speaking of family time, check out this 1898 video of Santa Claus. It’s eerie, charming, and beautiful in its simplicity:
Even though I’m taking some time off from this blog (though I will have the Year in Review up by 11:59pm on 12/31/08), I’m assigning you some homework during your winter break.
A few years ago, the Helsinki Complaints Choir sang a song about all that is wrong with Helsinki, Finland. I think its high time we come up with some lyrics about Santa Clarita in the same vein (all in good fun of course). I expect lyrics and a melody by early in the New Year! Check it out:
Speaking of complaints, I know I’m not the only husband nervous about what to get his wife for Christmas. Let this video serve as a cautionary tale and a warning to you husbands out there with only one (half) day left for shopping!
By the way- I asked, and Target is open until 6pm tonight. I found some good last minute stuff there.
That’s about it for today, have a great holiday, be safe, and be merry!
