Johnny Pride Redux-The Candidate Speaks

So for all you “haters” out their (including myself) who piled onto Johnny Pride and his City Council candidacy in the last couple of days utilizing the material in the original post and bringing new material throught he magic of the “interwebs,” late last night the candidate himself actually posted.  In his own words:

 I’ve had enough people suggest I respond here that I will do so.
> As have many candidates for office across the country, I have seen the way too many reporters and others twist facts or falsify them completely. Sometimes that is simple bias or incompetence. Other times it may be intentional as they have some background agenda. In all cases, not just the candidate is hurt, but the people of the community to whom he could have brought important reforms, or perhaps stop ones that do not put the needs of the people first.
> I am running because there are things this community needs and that are important to me. I spoke at length with Jonathan Randles at the Signal about my proposals for the SCV. Rather than writing about those things, which are what is really important for this election, he chose to write half truths and to suggest my candidacy is not to be taken seriously. Though certainly protected, it is not the kind of journalism that the first amendment was really meant for. After all, the press is supposed to protect the people by providing them truth and, we all hope, some objectivity.
> Yes my Myspace and website were hacked. I finally got it cleared up with myspace and my hosting company. All is good now. I am a bit of a kidder. I love how into my humor you all are. I’m glad to entertain all of you. However, that’s what I do, Entertain. I’m an actor. Yes it’s true I have played many weird roles in tv shows and movies. In case many of you are not aware, it’s all fake. The speedo’s, the lines, it is all the choice of the director/writer’s/producers. I am just happy to be able to do what I love most, making people smile!

Now I hate to break it to everyone, including Mr. Pride, but the only real drama in this election is who will come fourth, since that person will capture the seat vacated by Bob Kellar in 2012.  (Sorry, the incumbents will win.)  But I find young Mr. Pride appealing in the same way I find young Harrison Katz appealing, to wit:

1. He is 25 yet is aware there IS an election;
2. He is very hardworking and ambitious in his field, and is involved with the running of businesses which is hard;
3. Not only does he not sport any VISIBLE tatoos or piercings, but his appearance on the dating show seems to indicate he has NO tatoos or piercings;
4. From his writing above he can construct a declarative sentence and understands the purpose of paragraphs.

Based on this what more could I want!  So I guess I will cast two votes in April:  One for Harrison Katz and one for Johnny Pride!
