- A 67 year old man says he accidentally cut off a motorist while driving on Bouquet Sunday night and was beaten up for it. The man told the Sheriff’s Station that after he cut the driver off, the driver signaled for him to pull over. When the 67 year old man did, “the driver of the other vehicle began yelling and punching him in the chest.” The suspect is in his 20s and authorities are looking for him KHTS
- The 26 year old Newhall man who was struck and killed by a train while sitting on railroad tracks on Saturday may have been listening to an iPod and did not hear the train approaching according to KHTS. Toxicology tests are pending
- The 14 year old boy who allegedly started the Haskell Canyon wildfire on Sunday while attempting to ignite his marijuana pipe has been released to his parents as Sheriff’s Arson investigators take over the case. Meanwhile, the 33 year old man who was arrested for obstructing fire fighters denies he did anything of the sort SIGNAL
- There are so many roadside memorials set up to remember SCV’s vehicle-related deaths that the City has an unofficial policy of allowing the memorials to remain for 30 days. Such is the case with the memorials for Matilda Garnica who was killed July 4 and the Soledad Canyon memorial set up for 15 year old Eric Gilhooley, who was hit by a car shortly after. His name will be added to the list of the dead at Central Park’s Youth Grove memorial SIGNAL
