Mad Skillz

Every time there’s a fire in the SCV, I look up and salute the skilled pilots of the LA County Fire Department as they commence their aerial attacks. Here’s why:

Equally impressive are the red helicopters of the Los Angeles City Fire Department, which occasionally dart up to the SCV to lend a hand. I saw at least one of those last Sunday.

That’s not to sell the ground responders short. Check out this amazing video from LACO Fire Department shot during the Crown Fire last month:

We’ve come to expect excellent fire incident response precisely because our firefighting resources in this region are so well-practiced in responding. They -the LACO Fire Department, LA City Fire, the Forest Service, the Hot Shots and California Department of Forestry-could teach the federal government a thing or two about not letting jurisdiction and territorial contests get in the way of accomplishing the task.

We in the SCV salute you!

The first YouTube video is the lake at the Tesoro Del Valle rec center. Glad to be of service to our community!
