Too Damn High

Jimmy McMillan, NY Gubernatiorial candidate with the The Rent is Too Damn High Party, has become an overnight YouTube sensation after debating other candidates for Governor. Here’s why:

I know we had some colorful characters in our recent City Council election, but not a single one had a cogent, simple message like the Rent is Too Damn High Party.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t in the future! The Too Damn High party principle could be applied to a lot of things locally. I imagine, for instance, a “The Density is too Damn High Party,” representing folks like Bill Reynolds and those who like to call the SCV a “bedroom community.” For Mayo detractors, we could have a party called “The Hospital is Too Damn High.” SCOPE: “The Population of the SCV is Too Damn High” party. For me, in August, I could form the “The Temperature in SCV is Too Damn High” party.

“Look out there. Listen. Can you hear it? It’s the sound of children sweating, air conditioners running, and people fainting. Why? I’ll tell you why. The Temperature is Too Damn High.”

Simple. Effective. It’s what the voters want.

    I do respect his service to our country, but here he is railing aginst high rent and he doesn’t even pay his own way. Typical liberal… kinda like liberal google paying 2.4% in taxes. Not complying with Joe O’Biden’s words that paying taxes is your patriotic duty. Pretty laughable…

    Problem is that if start a “The Temperature is Too Damn High” Party, and they win, the next election would foster this party “The Electricity Bill is Too Damn High.”

    Everyone can agree that “Electricity Bill is Too Damn High”. However, until state governors are elected who will stand up to privately owned utility companies, and appoint Public Utilities Commissioners who will put it to the utilities, it’s sadly “Too damn bad”. California Public Utilities Commission, one of the most incompetent and morally corrupt bodies on the planet. Always was, always will be, regardless of whether the Governor is a Democrat or a Republican.

    Yes. The fact that Mr. Peevey (sp) president of the CPUC, was once CEO of the Edison Company, ought to tell us something! The CEO’s of SDG&E, PG&E and Edsion have Peevey’s number on speed dial.

    This is what is great about plural democracy, which they have in Europe. The major party candidates are so over-managed that they strive to be dull, so the minor party candidates can always steal the show! I especially like Jimmy’s views on gay marriage. “If you want to marry a shoe, I’ll marry you!”

    Maybe someone from this state can answer my question but, I have lived all over the world and have NEVER seen so many political ads then now that I live in California. Is this a normal election event or unique to this year?

    It’s normal but when there are billionaires running for office there’s more money to spend on the ads.

    Much more this year. Usually, we have fewer than other states. It costs a lot of money to run ads throughout California, and usually our races aren’t especially competitive. There’s a lot more money in the race this year.

    Well its mind boggling to me with the amount of commercials I am seeing and I am from Illinois, Land of Lincoln and Massively Corrupt Governors. I am waiting on Dora the Explorer or Teletubbies to have commercials advertised on their shows next
