Tesoro Pick-up Stix closed

It wasn’t long ago north SCV-ers lamented the closure of Starbucks in this very center. Now Pick-up Stix, something of a bridge between the Panda Express and New Moon gap, has suddenly shut their Tesoro doors. The Stevenson Ranch store on The Old Road remains open.

With the expansion of Walmart’s grocery section and the opening of Sprouts and Valley Produce, some SCVTalk contributors (myself included) have begun to question the viability of Tesoro anchor Albertsons.

As of August 2010, the Tesoro Marketplace itself was for sale by commercial property owner Hanley Investment Group.

We all know where the cracks have formed! The one with the cracks has never been a critical thinker! And the guy with the big mouth that yelled “it’s time to move on”, needs to be moved out! The arrogance of the group of 4 is unbelievable.

It is no surprise this location closed. The food was expensive. The prices went up and the quantity of the food you got went down. Same thing that Panda Express is doing which is why I don’t go there either. Swirley’s will probably be next. Even though the owners are awesome and very friendly, 39 cents per ounce for yogurt can get quite expensive when bringing in 4 kids. I can get more at Coldstone for less.

Thomas: is there less expensive self-serve fro-yo in SCV? Second, and you know I’m a Swirly’s fan: their labor costs are quite a bit lower given it’s ma and pa behind the counter (most of the time anyway).

I don’t know, is there? My point was only that it gets expensive when me, my wife, and 4 kids go in. I hope they don’t close. Like I said, friendly owners (workers) and they are always pleasant when you come in. Something you don’t see that much often anymore. :>)

Quite surprised that the location closed. They were always busy whenever I went in there (which was about every other week). It is a shame since that was always a nice alternative for take-out dinner than the bland Panda Express. However, I have to disagree about the location doing bad. Albertsons always seems to be busy when I am in there, and the ANOTHER nail shop is going in to the old nailshop location. My only gripe is that there is only one entrance if you are going west on Copper Hill.
