Human remains found in carpet in Placerita Canyon

Yes, someone used one of the most popular hiking and natural areas of the SCV to dump a body inside a carpet according to KHTS:

Human remains were found this afternoon in the open space area of Walker Ranch.

According to Lt. Robert Lewis of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station, city workers doing some cleanup near the entrance to the ranch were attempting to remove a piece of carpeting embedded in the mud.

When they removed the carpet, bones fell out and sheriff’s deputies called to the area determined they were human remains.

The Walker Ranch open area is named after an old home site located in the heart of Placerita Canyon. You can see the outline of the house that used to be there in the photo above. It’s just east of the path that many day-hikers take to see the water falls deeper in the Canyon along with beautiful old oak trees and lush green meadows. The article says the body was found in the Walker Ranch “open area,” so it might not be so close to the hiking path, but still: this is a very popular area for recreation.

It’s really sickening someone was disposed of there, nevermind the fact that they were (rolled up?) in a carpet. I thought that was just a fictional Hollywood prop from old gangster movies.

Sadly, this will be just another case for the coroner and detectives to solve in a long line of similar body dumps dating back decades in the SCV.

The Signal reports that they were dog bones in this morning’s paper. Someone has some explaining to do.

KHTS one of the few places less accurate than an obama speech.

From KHTS: “When they removed the carpet, bones fell out and sheriff’s deputies called to the area determined they were human remains.” Sounds like they just repeated what they were told. I don’t think reporters get to look through the evidence to confirm purportedly human bones are, indeed, human.

Exactly Iheart, they reported what they were told, but never let facts get in the way of a good jab, probably over a past grudge. What’s the matter John, did you want to be the A.M. DJ but got snubbed? Buy yourself a chik-fil-a restaurant row certificate and make it all feel better.

KHTS is usually pretty good. But, how does a story get so twisted in the first place?Petz watches Bones and can tell the difference between human and canine skeletal structures.
