- Ed Colley gets nice write up in the SIGNAL regarding his candidacy. Comments are predictably brutal.
- One can buy tickets for the COWBOY POETRY FESTIVALstarting January 3, but the Sons of the San Joaquinwon't be there for only the second time. Second story reveals that the total budget for the festival is a (relatively) modest $220K, offset by ticket sales and sponsorships to (hopefully) break even. (Compare that with the $750K spent by Newhall Land for the now abandoned Bella Serra street painting festival.)
- Buck and Patricia McKeon realize that the primaries are now "open." Sources inform us that they both made an appearance at a recent local DEMOCRATIC Club Holiday party.
- And as an extra added bonus I can give unequivocal "thumbs up" to the films "We Bought a Zoo" and "The Descendants" which the Myers Clan viewed over the long holiday. The latter film may turn out to be the launching pad for a fantastic film career by Shailene Woodley, known prior to this film for her title roll in the cable teen prime time soap, "The Secret Life of the American Teenager."
- Also, I got a Kindle Touch for Christmas and yesterday borrowed my first ever eBook from the Santa Clarita Library. I have to admit it worked perfectly. If the system for audiobook downloads is as easy and robust then I will become one of the converted and probably vote for Laurie Ender if Petz decides not to run.
