How to guarantee a retail riot

Valencia's new 99 Cent (located across the street from a Mercedes Benz dealership, naturally)  store opens one week from today, and to build the hype among cost-conscious consumers, the store is going to host a contest:

CITY OF COMMERCE, Calif., Nov. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- 99¢ Only Stores(®) will celebrate the grand opening of its Santa Clarita, CA store on Thursday the 8(th) of November at 8am by selling an RCA(®) 22"Flat Screen LCD TV for only 99 cents to the first nine customers in line!
To celebrate the new store opening in Santa Clarita, the next 99 customers in line on the 8(th) may purchase a Scooter for only 99 cents! The following 99 customers can purchase Automatic Powered Scissors for only 99 cents! The next 99 customers can purchase a Crayola(®) Color Wonder Light Up Marker and Coloring Pad Set for only 99 cents!
What could possibly go wrong?

I reference here my piece written in the wake of last year's retail riots that occurred on Black Friday in which I postulated that retailers had successfully modified Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs by placing Cheap Shit Made in China at the base of the famous pyramid.
