Sorry everyone but I won't be able to do the Brief today. My son is now a year old and the Dr. wants to give him something like six shots.

That appointment is in about 40 minutes and though he's sleeping peacefully now, I fear soon he will be a crying, flailing and angry little boy. My gosh he's getting so strong now.

Wish me and Everett luck. Back tomorrow!

Lori, it is worse when you have to hold your child while they get their shots. I remember the look my son gave me when he got his first. It was like, how could you let him do that to me.

When my daughter had to have shots, they had me leave the room so she wouldn't view me as the villain but more like the comforting mother after it was done. To this day, ( shes 19 now) I have to buy her a Jamba Juice after she gets a shot

I used to take both of my kids to get shots. When my son would get his and cry, my older daughter would scold the doctor," Bad bad doctor. Stay away from my brother."

Can't believe he is already 1 - hang in there Jeff, so many doctor trips which will be offset by the wonderful times ahead.

Jeff, you can ask the Dr. to space the shots in two weeks or couple days. We did that with our kids because six shots at once is really too much for a baby. I think your son already took the shots but you can use my advice when he turns 2. :-)
