Do-Over: In a preliminary decision yesterday, a county Superior Court judge ruled in favor of the Newhall School District, vacated Albert Einstein Academy's charter and gave the school 120 days to apply for approval of a new charter. Plenty of questions here. Is the distressed Acton Agua Dulce district going to want to continue its relationship with AEA, who continues to not make friends with multiple school districts? With all of their fiscal problems, will AADUSD even be in a position to approve a charter? Will AEA be forced to shut down its location at the former Pinecrest school? We'll be watching. Speaking of Albert Einstein...: The Einstein Academy is back on the City Council agenda for next week, after the school appealed the Planning Commission's denial of its Rye Canyon Road project application. On Tuesday, the council could uphold the denial, or allow more time for city staff to review the appeal documents, as the agenda indicates AEA did not allow staff enough time to properly review and provide public notice before Tuesday's meeting.
