No Tax Day Tea Party makes me cry

Image not recoveredIMG_5119-269x300.jpg

Yo- where da Tea Party at?

It’s April 11 -just four days before Black Friday, aka Tax Day- and there’s no word (that I can find) about a Tea Party Tax Day protest in Valencia as there has been for the last two years in a row.

Do you know what this means?

1000+ people will not clog the narrow sidewalks on Valencia Blvd in front of City Hall.

Creative and funny (and some not so creative or funny) signs created by the SCV’s conservative base will not wave in the warm spring air.

Amped-up angry women will not shout weird stuff into bullhorns.

Big raised stomper trucks will not goose their engines in a celebratory display of American muscle.

And Steve Petzold, who was in the Tea Party before it was invented or became cool, will not entertain me with his crazy conservative antics and his oversized novelty Uncle Sam hat.

What am I going to do with myself, in other words? Just go to the post office like all the other sheeple, then go home and pick lint out of my belly button while watching Glenn Beck reruns? The Tax Day Tea Party had become the valley’s biggest yearly political event in a place that is starved of regular political events. Outside of a few cranks at City Council, myself included, no one protests anything here.

I guess now that the Tea Party got their guys in control of the House of Representatives, they decided a “meh” was in order for April 15, 2011. SCV Tea Partiers will have to go to Victorville for the nearest big tax day Tea Party with official support from local elected officials.

This liberal is disappointed that the SCV Tea Party groups aren’t thinking SCV first.

    Taxes aren’t due on Friday.

Phil, surely you can forgive us liberals for not knowing this, since we don’t pay taxes.

Thanks for the link to the videos. Hadn’t seen those before. Love the one where your friend, the Mad Hatter, talks about gay republicans being “tolerant” of the GOP’s stance on prop8. Actually- “the Log Cabin Republicans launched Republicans Against 8, a campaign focused on securing moderate and conservative opposition to this anti-family measure”. The Log Cabin Republicans also oppose DOMA “as an assault on federalism and the principle of equality under the law, and are committed to fighting to repeal this unfair law” .

Oh man, I just watched too many of those videos. My jaw dropped when I heard Yancey’s “prayer” about illegals taking the food out of the mouths of our children — seriously? How about, the illegals are the ones picking the produce to feed our children. Where is the next forum to discuss immigration?

Actually taxes aren’t due until the 18th this year. And liberals do pay taxes, but not GE!

GE through it’s chairman Jeff Immelt is in the pocket of Obama !!!! Together they define 21st century National Socialism.

If I can make billions of dollars and pay no income tax, then where do I sign up to become a 21st century national socialist? I just did my taxes, and talk about being on the wrong end of hte sandpaper condom!

For tax planning purposes you should purchase a Chevy Volt and take the federal tax credit for 2011.
