I’m back!
I know I said I wasn’t going to return to the site back in October, but, truth be told, I’ve missed posting here and even though I stopped writing, I’ve been following Santa Clarita news closely.
Plus I successfully finished my master’s program in December so I’ve got a little more bandwidth to spare.
In my absence, I think the site has benefited greatly from having other voices: Tim, I Heart, and Mike and all of SCVTalk’s dedicated talkers, have broadened the site’s readership and showed me a thing or two about blogging. I never intended SCVTalk to be about me, so I was thrilled to see it could survive and thrive in my absence.
Add to that the fact that we have some interesting elections coming up and I couldn’t let those guys have all the fun!
We have big plans for 2012 and SCVTalk. First of all, we’re going to split up the Daily Brief:
Monday: Mike
Tuesday: Tim Myers
Wednesday: Jeff
Thursday: Jeff
Friday: I Heart SCV
We plan to have some in-depth coverage of the upcoming elections with news scoops, interviews, and insights you won’t read anywhere else. The Daily Brief will of course continue bringing you SCV news from around the web every weekday. We’re also toying with the idea of starting up a weekly or bi-weekly audio podcast about SCV news, something I tried, perhaps prematurely, back in 2008. And somewhere in there, I’d like to work on a refresh of the site’s look and feel while maintaining its focus on discussion and ease of use.*
We hope you’ll continue reading and participating as we enter the sixth year of SCVTalk!

**Incidentlally, I’ll also continue posting at my other blog, Notes from Newalll, which will serve as sort of an escape valve for me when I want to post about topics not relating to the SCV or too liberal for the SCV
