Like Sand Through the Hourglass-Four Days left to File!

Sarah Gorman informs us that NO ONE pulled papers OR turned in papers today, leaving only Jon Hatami and Ed Colley as official candidates. We have heard directly from Steve Petzold that he is not running and through reliable parties that Brandy Brown, kickball lady and math teacher is also not running. That leaves the following folks to turn in their candidacy papers. Only four days left!

Bob Kellar

TimBen Boydston

Wouldn’t it be a hoot if these folks forgot to file by Friday?

    Do fewer people pull papers when it’s just 2 seats up for grab, not 3?

    Historically, yes. Smallest ever election was 2004 when Henry Schultz was SOLE challenger to incumbents Cameron Smyth and Bob Kellar. He came third. This election is shaping up to look a LOT like 2008, with probably very similar numerical distribution. Here is my first pass at order of finish: Ender Kellar Colley Boydston Hatami

    The observer in me is stumped at the notion that Colley would have an appeal great enough to finish 3rd.

    If one of the incumbents doesn’t turn in their paperwork, the filing period is extended, right?

    Timmy, Timmy, Timmy, You are trying to gin up a big issue out of nothing. Do you really believe the remaining potential candidates are at high risk of forgetting to file? On this Monday four days is an eternity when it comes to the time left for a candidate to come in and drop off the papers. My advice is to clam down, drink a beer, and wait until the deadline for filing is over. At that time you can proceed with your prognostications about how the incumbents will still win.

    Jim: We have had incumbents (not City Council) for other offices that have failed to file the candidacy papers on time, so it is not without precedent. What if Bob Kellar decides to bow out at the last second?

    If an incumbent does not file, the time period is extended and Petz is back in the arena.

    Just read the latest post on his facebook wall.. he is up on the WRB’s jock saying “Just wanted to give a “shout out” to the West Ranch Beacon (www.westranchbeacon.com). We do have an internet campaign ad up, so obviously, going to the news site helps us. However, they do provide community crime updates and talk about public safety issues that are affecting our community. They even alert us about some serious criminals in the AV who are preying on our elderly. That is admirable. And, they are conservative (sorry, I’m bias there). Have a great Tuesday. Stay safe out there my brothers and sisters (I’m talking about the Deputies … for all who don’t really know me).” It now makes sense while Bossert doesn’t tell the truth regarding Juking Jon… $$$

    Why wouldn’t he run ads in a paper outside the City limits? Makes perfect sense LOL
