The man accused in the hit-and-run that left Dianda Doane dead is going to trial. Doane, if you'll remember, was reportedly estranged from her family and often wandered along the streets in Valencia, where she was ultimately hit and killed. Jonathan Anker will face counts of failing to remain at the scene of an accident and driving under the influence. SIGNAL
A post-mortem examination of the body of Douglas Vleming, the man who was found dead in his backyard pool, will take place today. Investigators hope they will get information that can confirm whether the death was an accident. SIGNAL
4 gallons of paint does up to $400,000 worth of damage to a Northbridge HOA pool. Some time late Wednesday/early Thursday, the paint was dumped into the pool and hot tub and circulated through pipes and boilers, damaging everything. A reward is being offered to anyone who can provide information leading to an arrest. SIGNAL
The debate over a ballot vote on term-limit extensions for LA County Supervisors is far from over. Supervisors Antonovich and Yaroslavsky disagree on language such a proposal would use. Antonovich's proposed ballot statement obscures the fact that term limits would be extended, while Yaroslavsky's proposed language highlights the extension. SCVNews
