- After receiving a tip that a local man was blogging about killing school children from the Britsol Police Department in Connecticut and Yale University police, LASD investigators arrested a Valencia man Monday. The unnamed male Asian suspect lived near Santa Clarita Elementary and Arroyo Seco Jr. High and allegedly posted a blog that he was watching kids "and did not mind murdering them," mentioning that it would "be like the Aurora, Colorado shooting." Deputies found "several firearms" at the man's house. A Signal commenter says he lives across the street from the suspect and "he is indeed a Yale graduate." SIGNAL, SCVNEWS
- Congressman Darrel Issa defended Buck McKeon from charges of corruption Monday calling McKeon a "man of great integrity." Issa, the man in charge of the House Oversight Committee, authored the original report that showed McKeon as well as several other House lawmakers received favorable loan treatment from Countrywide back in the late 1990s, a fact Lee Rogers has used extensively in his campaign against McKeon. You'll also remember that before McKeon was named, Issa said such favorable treatment from Countrywide was "bribery." FACEBOOK LTE

A video of the remarks was posted yesterday by Mother Jones; needless to say it made such a splash that Romney held an emergency press conference last night in Costa Mesa. LA TIMES, MOJO, TPM
