- Murder on the 210: A woman was possibly pushed out of a red car on the eastbound 210 near the Newhall pass this morning around 1am, according to the LA Times. She was hit by several vehicles and was killed but only one car stopped after striking her." They probably never knew they were running over a body," an LAPD officer told KTLA. - And, sadly, a body was found yesterday on Cross Street in Newhall, and another body was foud in Gorman. Homicide Detectives are investigating both and there's no word on the victims' age, gender, etc. SIGNAL, SCVNEWS
- The Albert Einstein group has hit yet another roadblock, but this time in Thousand Oaks. As in Santa Clarita, it appears Einstein organizers have been building classrooms in a vacant commercial/industrial property without a permit in the hopes of opening a school by September 3. Well the Ventura County Board of Supes issued them a big slapdown Monday night, ordering them to stop work at the site, just as Santa Clarita did. What's left for them? Maybe they could just hold class at Hart Park or something, and while they're at it, teach children about the results of poor planning. SCVTALK
- Way to go Santa Clarita! All State's annual report on the likelihood of car drivers getting into accidents in California's 200 largest cities is out, and this year, we moved up the scaled, placing us at spot# 103 on the list. Or as Leon Worden puts it, "By and large, Santa Clarita residents are crashing into each other -and other stationary objects- a little less frequently than they were a couple of years ago." SCVers are only 8.3% more likely to crash into each other or other objects than a typical Californian. SCVNEWS

- City's heroin symposium draws over 300 parents, children, and others who listened to police, doctors and educators on the dangers of heroin and/or prescription painkiller abuse in the SCV. Cary Quashen, the ACTION drug center leader, said that Santa Clarita doesn't have more drugs than other communities, it's just that we're open and honest about the drug use in our community. And Deputy Josh Dubin told the crowd peer pressure alone doesn't contribute to heroin abuse in the SCV, but "virtual peer pressure" on the internet also pushes teens to abuse. SIGNAL

Now that the denial has worn off Petz, he's showing signs of pain and guilt, and perhaps even a hint of anger & bargaining.
