Lee Rogers Out-Raises Buck McKeon in the Third Quarter

Dr. Lee Rogers is still running hard at Buck McKeon, and it's beginning to pay off. In the last three months, Rogers has raised nearly $227k for his 2014 campaign, beating total McKeon's of $209k.

McKeon's Q3 totals are in line with his haul from the same period two years ago, but Rogers is raising about 10x as much as he was in 2011. A few more months of this and we're going to have a very different campaign in 2014.

As chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, McKeon has access to a lot of defense industry donors, but his campaign overhead is substantial, with receipts of over $100k during the last quarter. Still, McKeon holds a cash-on-hand advantage over Rogers with $624k vs. Rogers' $170K.

A big-spending congressional campaign will generate a lot of outside attention, and the Democrats and Republicans each have their own reason to spend big in our district if it looks like there's going to be a fight. With numbers this big and this early, Rogers is fast approaching that tipping point.

Tony Strickland, who's been rumored to be eying the 25th if McKeon, hasn't filed Q3 paperwork yet, but he managed to raise $330k in Q2 (ostensibly) for his campaign for the 26th Congressional District. The 26th was a well-funded battleground race in 2012, and some may be donating to Strickland in anticipation of a repeat.

Apparently Reynolds has memorized his Fox News talking points. Perhaps he missed todays Gallup Poll showing the GOP with an UNFAVORABLE rating of 62% vs 28% favorable. The overreach of the Teabaggers is paving the path for the return of Speaker Pelosi. It's ironic that the old white conservative guys are pushing America to the left.

Apparently Remy has memorized his MSNBC Liberal talking points. Perhaps she missed today's Gallup poll that has Obama's approval dropping to an all time low. Ironic since Obama's lame stream media rarely reports negatively towards progressives.

That's not what i said, but I forgive you since you evidently lack the acuity to follow and understand a divergent concept or opinion, or to be able to respond other than with insults and talking points. Your arguments are quite inchoate and, apparently, your lack of ability to express your viewpoint causes you to become very aggressive. You've also apparently lost your ability to recall the many actions taken by Republican presidents and congresses that have helped put American in our current troubles. These may be a signs of a neurological illness common among old white men your age. Fortunately you're covered by socialized healthcare for the elderly (Medicare) for which you can thank Lyndon Johnson for creating and successive progressives in Congress for safeguarding.

Yes they are willing to negotiate, but it is the policy of the United States to NEVER negotiate with terrorists. While burials for veterans are being delayed by Boehner and crew (who will NOT permit a vote by Congress to end the Government shutdown), the Congressional gymnasium remains open! BTW, a poll released today show that popular opinion of the GOP is the lowest in U.S. history! After 20+ years, the 25th C.D. will be doing some needed House cleaning in 2014!

You will see/hear that the Dept. of Defense had to make arrangements for a CHARITY to bury Veterans because of the government shutdown created by the Republicans...It was only after this that the House approved emergency funding to bury the Veterans and tomorrow the bill goes to the Senate. Sir, your hatred clouds your ability to know the truth!

Past history does seem to indicate, however, that there are more registered voting Republicans than registered voting Democrats. Without new registered Democratic voters who will turn out on E Day, there is no successful campaign no matter how much money is available. El viejo would like to know where those new Democratic voters will come from and perhaps more important, the strategy involved in registering these new voters assuming there are new voters to be registered??? Por que El Viejo is very old, he hopes he will hear an answer soon.
