Merry Christmas, Happy Solstice and towards a great New Year!

I'm taking the Daily Brief offline until Dec 26, both to free up some bandwidth to ponder some other SCV end 'o the year things, and because even bloggers deserve a break*.

This Christmas & New Year season marks the 7th in SCVTalk's history. I know lists are hugely popular this time of year and we've done them before on SCVTalk, so I may try and do a list of some sorts beginning next week. What kind of list would you like to see? Perhaps something offbeat, as fitting this blog?

Overall, I think it's been a great year on the blog. SantaClarita.com has put together a talented and solid corps of local writers and bloggers during 2013, and I'm excited that SCVTalk is a part of it. We've broke some big stories this year and hope to continue that into next year.

I like to think that all of us here, whether you're just a reader, a commenter or a blogger, are making the SCV an even better place than it already is. So thank you as always for reading!

So see you in a few days and I hope your holiday is filled with joy, peace and happiness.

*Also, this is my first year shopping for toys for a real live little boy who plays with things and I'm learning what it's like to be a parent at Toys 'r Us on December 20. Exhausting!

Merry Christmas, Happy Solstice and towards a great New Year!

Merry Christmas, Jeff! Good luck with the Christmas Eve assembly of said toys -- remember to plan extra time for that part if you have stuff to put together. And you thought the purchasing of the toys was exhausting LOL just wait! ;)
