  • More Billboard Brouhaha: Deputies arrested two men, one from the Midwest, for a trespassing charge. It started as a citizen's arrest by the management of Food 4 Less, where the pair where allegedly blocking access to the store. KHTS
  • How Much Exactly?: Lila Littlejohn digs into the rate increases proposed by the Sanitation District for chloride cleanup. By the time all of the yearly increases are in place, homeowners would see their annual property tax bills go up to roughly $373, from $247. The Signal
  • DWP Named in Suit: A lawsuit alleges the Department of Water and Power has blame to take in the Powerhouse Fire that blackened 30,000 acres and charred dozens of homes last summer. The Signal

  • More On Vaping: The feds' looming regulations on e-cigarettes (as mentioned in yesterday's brief) is sparking debate in and on the fledgling industry. LA Times
  • Claim Claims LAX Was Lax: A $25M claim has been filed against the city of L.A. by the family of the TSA agents shot to death during the 2013 shooting at the airport. According to the claim, LAX failed to properly protect travelers and workers. (This certainly prompts a question of "When is it safe enough?"     That's good stuff, especially the photos! :) I guess that part of the case is a little too spicy for the Signal. I like how the Daily Mail conflates the total sales of the business ($48 million) to make it seem like that was the profit, which probably after tax was closer to $1.5 million to $2 million per year. While great, that amount of money could quickly be sucked up by someone with Super Model tastes. I also imagine that life in Sand Canyon and Santa Clarita was not as "fancy" as the husband represented to his model bride, which was also probably a great stress on the marriage.
