Rogers Takes (Legal) Action: Dr. Lee Rogers, candidate for the 25th Congressional District seat up for grabs this November, is suing Valley Presbyterian Hospital, where he was contracted to provide outpatient services. The suit claims a VPH doctor repeatedly disparaged and badmouthed Rogers. “Prior to filing my complaint, I sought to resolve our disagreement through other means, but unfortunately I was not successful." McKeon Does Not Want ENLIST: Congressman Howard "Buck" McKeon continues to come out strong against the ENLIST measure, suggested for this year's National Defense Authorization Act, that would give a green card to undocumented immigrants who enlist in the military. Politico
Public Art, Uh Oh: The nonprofit ARTree group continues to do some beautiful public art installations, such as their latest, a mural along the Creekside bike path. This being the SCV, however, expect the news of this project to draw much naysaying and grumbling. The Signal

I wouldn't want your prophecy to go unfulfilled: I legitimately prefer the austerity of concrete to the perfunctory tile mosaic that has been installed. As the ARTree VP is quoted in the story, "No artistic talent is necessary...we want everyone." It shows. I look, desperately, for meaning or intent in the mosaic, but find little beyond a suggestion that this is a community that likes brightly colored flowers and sunshine. I am left empty. Perhaps this is the point.
