- Texas Over Torrance: The word is that Toyota is planning to move "large numbers" of the 5,000-plus people who work at its sales and marketing headquarters in Torrance to suburban Dallas. Many of Toyota's U.S. vehicles are built in Texas, Mississippi and Kentucky. L.A. Times
- Closing the Gates to the Barnyard: You know the place. Whether you're heading north or south on Highway 14 in Acton, it's hard to miss the cheery Bob's Big Boy statue smiling from a yard full of signs, wagons and etcetera. Yep, The Barnyard. On my way home from a photoshoot in Palmdale Saturday morning, I stopped off to look around and found the place is finally closing. Owner Dennis Neice said almost everything has been sold to a buyer in Wisconsin who made him a deal he couldn't pass up. This isn't exactly an overnight occurrence.
