Making a Leap: While autopsy results are still pending, Jim Holt reports that the SCV woman who died in sheriff's custody over the weekend had heroin on her, according to a narcotics sergeant. Ok, but does that justify the "heroin casualty" headline? I'm not an expert on narcotics, but if she was arrested Thursday morning and pronounced dead on Saturday, is that necessarily the sign of an overdose? There are a number of questions the media should be asking, and hopefully they will. The Signal
