  • Election Day! Sample ballots, polling place look-up here at LA VOTE.NET Remember to nag your relatives; chances are they are uninformed meaning you can fill out their ballot for them as you guilt-trip them into exercising their right to vote
  • She made it all up! A 22 year old woman, evidently homesick for her boyfriend in Taiwan, lied to police about being assaulted in a school parking lot on October 21. Her story fell apart quickly and Detectives found her clothes in a dumpster near where she works. She’s being charged with a misdemeanor and could face one year in jail SIGNAL
  • COC slashes winter classes due to budget cuts. Online classes especially hard hit SIGNAL
  • City to begin looking at broad-ranging historic preservation ordinance. Most properties that might be considered historic are in Newhall, says Laurene Weste, which serves as the SCV’s “cultural bedrock” (yay!) Also, a good quote from Pat Saletore on yuppies SIGNAL
  • Buck McKeon-backed provision in Defense bill will look at Iran’s military capacity. “Iran’s actions pose a threat to peace and stability in their region, and these have repercussions for global security,” McKeon told BLOOMBERG The study might be intended to increase pressure on President Obama
  • Tim Patterson, a TV commercial director from Santa Clarita, suddenly found himself in possession of film worth potentially millions of dollars. What was it? The last footage of Michael Jackson. Patterson eventually got to edit and direct (somewhat) the film “This is It”, which has grossed over $100 million. Remarkable story at LA TIMES
  • In survey of Los Angeles County businesses, 33% say they will continue layoffs well into 2010 “”The economists in the (capital) Beltway say the recession is over, but the pain is just beginning,” says the survey’s director DAILY BREEZE

Yes I can…but we will need your help…7,000 of you. TimBen.com

Dave Bossert certainly doesn’t have a clue about COC. Is Koegle even running? I’ve never seen a “serious” candidate put forth such little effort. It’s like he expected the SCV establishment to do all the heavy lifting, but when they went the other way, he just sat on his hands. Most indications were that he viewed this seat as a stepping stone, but his conduct (I’m sorry, non-conduct) during the campaign confirmed it.

Tim Ben, the site assaults the senses. Looks like the internet was just invented.

Just finished voting. Very light turnout as expected. The kind ladies at the polling station were a bit flustered and we’re quite as well-oiled as they were last year.

I think I was the first person there this morning. Should be interesting to track turnout to the number of ballot questions. In Saugus, we have no annexation questions, no elementary school board races and no water board races. Just COC and Hart.

On phony police report, the Dad probably sent the young woman over here to get her away from the boyfriend! I have the perfect way to get rid of a noxious boyfriend (tried and true). Be kind and gracious to them! Nothing results in disapproval faster than a parent’s seeming approval!

Can’t that backfire though Timothy Myers if you ‘truly’ like the boyfried/girlfriend. Also, I have known many parents that thought the boyfriend/girlfriend was just the BEST thing since apple pie, just to find out that he/she is a complete looser and that’s after the marriage and children come along. I say be up front. If there is something about the new person in your child’s life, SPEAK NOW or forever hold your peace.

Yes, TimBen can win! The current council has been seated way to long, and they have lost the direction to represent the people.
