West Siders want to stay in the County and join the City of Santa Clarita

The people have spoken and, well, they just aren’t making any sense:

(ADVISORY VOTE ONLY) – NO 570 43.75

In case that’s hard to read- 56% of voters want to stay with the County of Los Angeles while 56% of those same voters want to join the City of Santa Clarita.

Just as I predicted, people would vote yes on more than one option, thus making the entire vote pointless, which is probably welcome in some sectors.

At least we know they don’t want to go to the trouble of becoming their own city. I guess that much is clear.

Clearly, this is a mandate for “the best of both worlds” option. Or it’s a mandate for the “we don’t really care…do whatever” option given that only about 1300 individual voters appear to have weighed in on this measure. (Of course, some could have voted yes/no for one option and left the others blank–who knows?) In any case, perhaps it’s best that those who don’t really understand how to vote remain outside of the City.

The way the ballot was written was a joke, no surprise the results were what they are.

Stunningly, disappointely low turnout for the westside vote. Clearly there is work to do.

I’m with iheartscv – they clearly wish to complain and not work for anything. Keep those voters out! Besides – the county areas are a freakin mess! The infrastructure is a disaster and the cost would be enormous to bring them up to our standard. They get to keep complaining about paying extra for the city’s recreation programs and this makes me happy. In fact, raise their prices for wasting all our time.
