Reasonable Suspicion?
- Two men were shot in an apparent drive-by shooting Sunday night in Newhall on 14th Street between Chestnut and Walnut. The men are both in critical condition and the shooter is at large. Jonathan Randles visited the scene and talked to a neighbor who lived in the area and ran outside to aid one of the men. SIGNAL, KHTS
- Hart District may select new Superintendent by May 6, the Signal says. The new supe will be one who can “guide us through these times that we’re living in.” Meaning someone with the guts to make the cuts the taxpayers want. SIGNAL
- This American Life radio show fact-checks GOP Gubernatorial-hopeful Steve Poizner’s book account of his time as a teacher Mt. Pleasant High School in the Bay Area. In the book, Poizner said he was worried that students might attack him or steal his car while he was teaching at Mt. Pleasant. He characterized the school as an inner city school in a really tough neighborhood. But TAL host Ira Glass didn’t find that when he visited the neighborhood and the school; indeed he said he found a thoroughly middle class neighborhood and one of the better high schools he’s covered in his journalism career SAC BEE, TAL

- A 27 year old Canyon Country man died in car accident off Highway 14 late Sunday night. The car fell from the freeway and the man, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene KHTS
