- The existing Santa Clarita Courthouse, located at the Civic Center, is being demoted. The courthouse will soon “handle only misdemeanor cases and traffic citations, with felony cases being reassigned to the San Fernando Courthouse,” according to the Daily News. The move will affect everyone who gets called to jury duty as well as Deputies who will have to drive south to appear during testimony. Last year the Santa Clarita courthouse handled 852 felony cases. DAILY NEWS
