- In a truly horrific story a citizen loses their life when coming to the aid of a robbery victim in what appears to be a Craig’s List type robbery gone horribly wrong. The main difference between this and the other legion daylight homicides in the SCV in recent years is that young suspects are in custody and a plethora of witnesses should allow the Sheriff’s Department to run the additional suspects to ground in short order.
While news reports identified the victims as Hispanic, pictures at SCVNEWS.com indicate the suspects are African American.
- In keeping with the horror theme the victim of the single vehicle accident on Plum Canyon Road will require dental records to positively identify.
- And to lighten things up, we get to use freakonomics to call BS on COC Board candidate Patrick Hill’s claim of hitting 1,500 homes with volunteers on a particular Saturday. Assuming the following:
All eight members of the Young Republicans (his only endorsing organization) turned out to help; and
They worked in pairs for a full eight hours.
It would have been necessary for them to hit just under 40 homes per hour or one every 90 seconds!
In other words, it only happened in the mind of one Patrick Hill.
