Howie Klein at the Down With Tyranny blog says that KHTS' star reporter, Mark Archuleta, has been fired for "reporting fairly on the McKeon-Rogers race:"
Sure the source is an anti-McKeon blog, but word is travelling fast around the SCV today and I've been getting confirmations from multiple quarters. For what it's worth, he's been un-personed from the KHTS website (though Google still has a cache copy of his bio).
I've reached out to the other reporter as well and will update if/when I get a response.
How to describe Mark Archuleta? Well, he was a real reporter. He displayed in his writing skill and tenacity. He was aggressive, cared about the facts, and reached out to all parties to get their say on a story or issue. His reporting on Buck & Patricia McKeon this year was very good, far above what we see out of the Signal. At least one or two of his reports earlier this year on the Assembly primary were linked to by Lee Fang, now a reporter at The Nation.
I feel the heavy hand of McKeon and his local Deputy/enforcer Morris Thomas at work here, but I'm not sure why yet.
