Facial Hair Throwdown: More great writing about the "Sleeping Tiger's" verbal assault on Cam Noltemeyer at the City Council meeting Tuesday night. RIP: Frank Walker, 90, has died. Lila Littlejohn herself writes the obit for a man with one of the SCV's most famous names, who actually lived in one of the SCV's greatest places, Placerita Canyon, on what we now call Walker Ranch. Frank Walker was also an artillery man in World War 2 and fought in Europe before returning to the SCV and other places on the west coast. Great & descriptive must-read piece by Littlejohn SIGNAL
A woman was allegedly kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend Tuesday night while the woman was in a parking lot at McBean & the Old Road. Somehow the woman managed to alert her family on her cell phone before being struck by the man who took the phone away. Obviously he wasn't a very skilled kidnapper; he abandoned his victim mostly unharmed and the car somewhere in Sunland once the car ran out of gas. Deputies aren't releasing the names of the victims or the suspect in the case, and there's no descriptions so I don't know what to tell you to watch out for. One Deputy even told the Signal that deputies "didn't have a lot to go on." CBS 2, SIGNAL

A 19 year old punk spray painted sexually graphic words and images on four cars and two houses in North Park area, north of Newhall Ranch Road on October 16 and was caught within five hours. But the man was released on bail quickly and prosecutors so far haven't charged him. Very well. Civil courts it is I imagine. SIGNAL

This is the classic case of Schrodinger's Cat! Frank Ferry can be out of line for acting like a maniac AND Cam Noltemeyer can say things she shouldn't. Both things can exist simultaneously. My question: When do we get to open the box.

Thanks Jeff for the last item. I was the 9th reader of names at 10PM on the first day of the Memorial's display. At that hour in the stillness and quiet, other than of the next shifts of reading of names (which went on around the clock for ALL of the time that the Memorial was here) I was able to make rubbings of the names of 3 soldiers who died in Nam who were friends, of a close friend of mine in NY who never had an opportunity to visit D.C.'s Memorial. After doing the rubbings, I was able with the help of other volunteers there, at that hour, to find out that the Air Force Pilot who's POW bracelet my friend wore for years, was F&R - "Found alive & Returned". The info sources I was provided by these volunteers, I sent to my NY friend who within minutes of the search found out that he had been a POW for 6 years, was found released and reunited with his Mother, and 3 sisters, was given an honorable discharge, went to college and became an elementary school teacher. I hope others will share their experiences of this significant visit to the SCV! by these really interested and caring volunteers was

Jeff, the case on the 19 year old doesn't have to be filed by the DA for at least 21 days. He bailed out which gives the DA 21 days. If he stayed in jail, he would have went to court within 2 court days and we would have known the fate of the case then. "Don't Ask". I will let you know what happens to the case.
