Almost taste the turkey Daily Brief Edition

  • Bureau of Land Managment Math: Testifying last week, a BLM official said that the value of Soledad Canyon in the form of aggregate gravel > Soledad Canyon in the from of pristine wildland canyon area. In fact, killing the CEMEX deal would mean Northern Los Angeles County could face a critical shortage of aggregate materials over the next 50 years, which is something I know a lot of people lose sleep over. As it has in the past, Soledad set to be pivotal for this region's future.  This thanksgiving I'm thankful for P-Smith @ KHTS for excellent reports like THIS ONE
  • VeCo columnist Timm Herdt says Tony Strickland -the goofy, lanky, very tall basketball player, one time CEO of a "green wave" energy company, and of course a defeated Assemblyman- is all but certain to run for CA-25 next year pending McKeon retirement. Wilk nailed it in his column last month. If it's true though, game on. I like the Dr's odds over a carpetbagger VECO STAR (Subscription sorry)
  • October real estate numbers nothing to write home about, but man are you in a good position if you own a condo. 10th straight month median price increases SIGNAL, SCVNEWS
  • That's it? They're just going to give up? CHP shrugs shoulders, huffs a bit and decides to leave some old junked car in a 200 feet ravine. I love this line: "We're going to mark it with an 'X' and leave it there." SIGNAL
  • Blast from the past: Facebooker who helped TimBen Boydston get elected says Laurie Ender may run for Council in 2014. But it's kind of late I would think. FACEBOOK
  • Giant novelty scissors make a Thanksgiving appearance to cut the ribbon from the new McBean Park and Ride parking lot. CITY BRIEFS
  • Black Friday ads: I always post and re-post links to BFADS.NET , the best black Friday compiler of deals. Looks like this year if you want a deal you may be getting rained on.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thank you for continuing to read, comment and make Santa Clarita.com the vibrant local resource it is.

Without question P S's article is great coverage, especially when one considers the implications!
