This Rain, I Swear

We have a real river, which is nice. But I'm burying the lead. IHeartSCV is on twitter. So go and follow.


You've probably seen this one already. Newly-burnt brush can be like teflon to rainwater.


By tomorrow, this will look tame, I'm afraid.

    I am always curious about the water flow on the paseos/under the bridges near Old Orchard Park. The last big rainstorm -- what? 2 or 3 years ago? -- someone who lived in those apartment told me that the water was quite deep, rushing under there.

    I think its funny. We are facing the wost drought in 10 years and 2 days of rain and people are freaking out. Thank God you don't live in Oregon or Washington, you would be under your desk crying at this point

    Fair point, BUT the thing is, in Seattle when it rains heavy, it's pretty brief. It's not a daylong dumping of rain.

    On the serious tip, places that don't get a certain kind of weather very often are smart not to spend too much attention on that kind of weather. Also, (almost) everyone is in on the joke. Hardly anyone is seriously freaking out.

    There was a 70 car pile up (WI) and a 50 car pileup (MN) due to the snow! HAhah I agree if I were in any of those places I would be crying!!

    What I noticed since I moved to Southern California is that the roads are not constructed to handle mass amounts of rain...not that it doesn't flood in areas where there is a lot of rain. However, I have lived in heavy rain areas where we could drive at a slow pace and never encounter flooding except for a few places. It seems in So Cal we could just have one really bad storm and the roads go to pot. Is it me?

    Rain doesn't bother me but then I am from No Cal and very used to it. I also live in other states where I had to deal with flash floods, tornadoes and snow. You do what you can to be safe. Working remotely has been a Godsend.
