- Proctor & Gamble Sues Local firm: A Santa Clarita company that makes household cleaning products and personal care products will be sued by Proctor & Gamble, the giant conglomerate for producing shampoo bottles that look similar to Proctor’s “Herbal Essences” line. Pat Aidem has more.
- McKeon reviewing Feinstein Cemex Proposals, Issue discussed at tonight’s Council meeting: Jon Dell has a good article summing up Senator Feinstein’s proposals and talked to Mayor Kellar. Link
- Rain recharges aquifers: From Friday to Monday morning, 4.84 inches of rain fell on Santa Clarita, which was enough to help recharge local aquifers and even collect some 8,700 acre-feet of stormwater according to the LA DWP. Karen Elowitt has all the details.
- CHP Wants Help in death investigation: They’re asking for witnesses to an accident that claimed a 14 year old boy’s life on the 5 last week. KHTS has more.
- Big Rig Crash on I 5: The truck was hauling a modular home and jackknifed “spilling its load across the entire northbound side” of Interstate 5 near Vista Del Lago. No injuries, but traffic was tied up for four hours. Link
- Presidential Delegates: I wrote about Cameron Smyth, his wife, and Sharon Runner being appointed as Giuliani delegates for our congressional district and also explored how the state’s new primary process works. I wonder who the other candidates will choose as delegates locally? Article
- Council Meeting Tonight: Reminder of what’s on the agenda: Feinstein’s Cemex Proposals, County Civic Center expansion, and it looks like they will table Henry Mayo Expansion to an “unknown” time in the future. Wonder if Councilmember Boydston will have anything to say about that? I’ll see you there.

- Daniel Pearl’s Father to speak at local synagogue: The father of Daniel Pearl, the journalist who was slain in Lahore Pakistan in the weeks after 9/11, will speak at Congregation Beth Shalom on February 2nd on terrorism, being Jewish, and “common ground” between Jews, Christians and Muslims. It’s not cheap but sounds interesting. KHTS has more.

I’m sure I can find some old CHiPs shows online, that show always had a lot of SCV shots in it. Reely?
