Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!!

New photos of the snow storm here! LINK

Folks, as a native Midwesterner let me tell you we have a full on snow storm going on in Valencia and all parts of the Santa Clarita Valley.  According to the Weather Channel we can expect actual accumulation in Castaic and Canyon Country of one to two inches, though I can tell from long experience with snow (and the Weather Channel agrees) that this will not cling to paved surfaces in the rest of the SCV, though I can see it right now accumulating to the grass and trees in a small way.

We have lived in the SCV for 14 years and 7 months and have not seen a storm like this, though we understand it is not without precedent.  For those here longer please provide some historical perspective on this rare weather event.

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!!

The Farley family has been here since 1982. The last significant event was in February 1989. We remember it because our first son was born the previous year. The forecast the night before was for significant rain overnight. When I awoke in the middle of the night I heard nothing and figured the forecasters screwed up. What a surprise to wake to four inches of snow on the ground the next day. That was enough for a native Southern Californian to call it a ‘snow day’ and stay home from work. Today has to be the best day since then. Looking out our window past the Christmas tree that is yet to come down is downright romantic.

Petz can confirm snow in the Saugus area-being from MI it takes a lot more of this stuff to get him excited. He is sick of radical climate change and has found a nice car that runs on vegetable oil down in Lakewood He is considering a purchase to help save the environment one french fry at a time. 1300 miles on one tank of diesel-you can get the oil for free. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/2139190475.html

Come on Petz! I thought you were a religious man? You don’t believe in the religion of Global Warming? If it was 95 degrees today their religion would have said “GLOBAL WARMING” If it was 62 degrees today it would have been because of “GLOBAL WARMING” If it was -2 degrees today it would have been “GLOBAL WARMING” If it Snowed in Santa Clarita today it would have to be “GLOBAL WARMING” Have you no FAITH??? It must be so, or the liberals would not believe in it. THEY HAVE FAITH
