Sheriff’s Station Releases video of Nissan/Gas Station crash

So glad no innocent people were injured.

Here’s an update from the LASD:

At approximately 0155 hours, a deputy sheriff assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station observed a 2005 Nissan 300ZX, stopped in the middle of an intersection at Railroad Avenue and 8 th street, Newhall. When he attempted to contact the driver, the vehicle sped away at a high rate of speed. The vehicle, which was traveling southbound on Newhall Avenue, entered the driveway of a Chevron Gas Station located at 20500 Newhall Avenue in Newhall. The suspect’s car collided into four gas pumps, dislodging them from their bases. The collision was responsible for damaging a support pillar causing the metal overhang to fall to the ground.

A fire erupted at the gas pumps. The fire was ultimately extinguished by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel. The driver and passenger were injured as a result of the collision. They were both transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital for treatment to their injuries.

The possibility of alcohol intoxication is currently under investigation by Traffic Office personnel assigned to Santa Clarita Valley Station. Anyone witnessing the incident is urged to call Detective Magg at (661) 799-5109.

There was some drinking going on at the Senses event last night, but that party ended at 11pm and everyone was well behaved as LASD Deputies were patrolling around on foot. But the Vu, a Newhall dive bar/wannabe night club, was hosting an after party until 2am.

    High quality video picture. Nice to see that no one tried to drive their cars away from the pumps and just got themselves out of harms way.

    Holy Cow! That one guy was inches from being plowed over by that car. It’s amazing that there wasn’t any more injured people.

    One can reasonably speculate that the driver was an Obama supporter staging an attack on “Big Oil”. Hope that they are able to repair the damage in a more time efficient manner than the Mobil on San Fernando Rd. They were down for several years, thanks to the governmental permitting process.

    San Fernando Rd. hasn’t existed for over 5 years.

    I think Petz was referring to the Mobil explosion which happened somewhere near (if not more than) a decade ago when Railroad was still San Ferando Road. As for his Obama ramblings, I might suggest Petz contact his physician to cut the dose of whatever they have him on…Or perhaps increase it!

    I speculate that it was someone who thinks Reagan was a great president trying to create a “shortage” of oil so prices would spike, big oil would make millions and it would “trickle down”.

    LOL!!! I guess the memory goes first with “OLD AGE” Gas Lines=Carter, Gas Shortage=Carter The facts are pretty easy to find with google. The FACT (Oh know we have to talk about facts?) In 1980 oil prices started a 20 year decline. (Once again the facts found very easy using google) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980s_oil_glut

    Actually Nixon’s administration was the first to introduce gas lines and gas shortages in ’73, which was more of an OPEC thing than a Nixon thing, just like any other time where prices rose and fell. But I guess it’s easier to blame presidents for things we don’t like, as if they are somehow elected as evil oil dictators who have a magic lever in the Oval Office where they can push to raise or lower gas prices at will.

    That age line was a joke, we are the same age. How did reagan try and create an oil shortage? What actions did he take to do that?

    My original post was more of a GOP vs. Obama retort. Not a supporter of either.

    There was a glut of oil production in the mid-80′s which dropped gas prices dramatically. I was stationed in Alaska (when I was in the Army) where gas was up to $1.50/gallon (Ironically, not too far away from where the Alaskan Pipeline was flowing). I came home in ’86 to freak out on gas being .63/gallon. I thought I stepped back in time!

    The key word was “reasonably”. Based upon time of day, location, and the lack of respect for private property and law enforcement, one can reasonably reach a conclusion that this was an Obama supporter or not eligible to vote.
