Cruz, Parks Commish

Mike Cruz, friend of the site, occasional candidate for office, and long-time SCVer, got appointed to the Parks and Recreation commission last night. I asked him what his plans are for his post. Here's what he said:

Let's get serious!  Let me start by saying that I am truly honored and humbled by the appointment and to be able to serve my community.  One of my goals during the first year is to visit every park and community centers.  I want to speak with the folks who utilize the various programs and who visit the parks.  I want to learn what they think is great and what they think might need improvement and what they would like to see in the future.  In addition, I will be having an open door policy.  Meaning, that I will be more than happy to sitdown and listen to the concerns and/or praises from the community that fall under the purview of the parks and recs commission.
