- Einstein Academy backers sent packing: with a vote of 3-1, and no one from the Einstein group even present, the SUSD board denied charter status for the fourth time last night. The sole aye vote, Stephen Winkler, played the anti-semitic card just like AEA's director did the last time AEA was denied charter status by SUSD, saying he thinks that the AEA's backers are Jewish may play a role in the other board member's minds. AEA says SUSD is operating in bad faith and that it plans to appeal, again. SIGNAL, KHTS
- Councilmembers Ferry, McLean and Boydston got all up in the grill of one Sam Unger, the executive officer of the obscure LA Regional Water Control Board. I HEART, who says Ferry was in fine fighting form at list night's Council meeting, says that the Councilmembers upbraided Unger for his "science" showing that Santa Clarita's chloride had devastated crops in Ventura County. Ferry, borrowing a page from old west water wars, all but threatened to build a damn and block the flow of the Santa Clara river downstream. "We are that crazy" as a community Ferry told the bureaucrat. Boydston had his facts ready, noting VeCo farmers enjoyed good production last year, and Maria Gutzeit, an actual scientist and 2014 Council candidate, called BS on Unger's presentation.
