  • Castaic, say it ain't so. Burning corpses, pet stabbings, missing teens, and now this: A company in Castaic, heretofore unknown by the SCV's most knowledgeable- manufactures and sells parts to the infamous AR-15 semi-automatic rifle. Yes, decades after Bermite closed, we have an arms manufacturer here in town. And people say Obama hasn't brought back jobs to the USA. Incidentally the unnamed firearms manufacturer came to light because a 37 year old Simi Valley man allegedly stole parts from the company and was later found to be a weapons hoarder and perhaps an impostor LAPD officer. Or maybe he just works for some Hollywood outfit, supplying them gear to make shoots look realistic. When the story broke, it was email blasted out to residents, but by late yesterday evening, Deputies were telling Fox 11 that the suspect "may not have had ill will, or wanted to target the community." • The trial of Colt Doherty & Thomas Vensko has been transferred to downtown LA and is expected to take a long time. The two Canyon High grads are alleged to have been racing the night Doherty's car slammed into a Sand Canyon tree, killing his passenger Dakota Demont. Signal commenters want mercy for the "boys." "They've already learned their lesson, " one says. SIGNAL
  • More oustanding 20-someting male figures in the SCV: A 20 year old man named Dallas allegedly tried to tow his skateboard-riding friend Dakota behind him while driving drunk. Only Dallas hit a crub, Dakota went flying, and they all ended up in the clink. Thankfully no one was killed. The incident occurred late last month. SIGNAL
  • Will he or won't he? I'm completely bored by the saga of Chris Fall and whether he will or won't end up on the Hart Board before or after the election no challengers are running in. SMITH @ KHTS via SCVNEWS
  • Foxy red-headed Wynonna Judd will belt out country tunes tomorrow night at the PAC. Of course my mom is going. Wynonna, and Kenny, and Clint, and Dolly were the soundtrack of my youth. KHTS
  • But if down home country music isn't your thing, you could go to tonight's Senses on Main party, which is positively more Down the Rabbit Hole and nonsensical. CITY BRIEFS
  • Wow that place is bad: Our own Mike D. breaks the news that a new mountain-state Mexican chain is coming to the SCV and he also alerted me to what is quite possibly the worst reveiwed restaurant in the SCV's history. SANTA CLARITA.COM

Because I’m sure there’s a perfectly good explanation of why this guy has a crapload of guns…and grenades…and bulletproof vests….and a fake LAPD badge. I mean seriously, let’s not blow this out of proportion, ok?

Love your column; would love it even more sans a few typos. E-mail me and I'll discuss details.
